Think Water Compact Ultra Filter
How long will my filter last? Step one of the filter will last 6-12 months. Step two and three will last 1-2 years depending on incoming water quality.
Why add minerals to my water? The pH and remineralisation filters both enhance minerals already found in the body at very small levels. These minerals help with the functioning of the body. These levels will not exceed the DWI standards which can be found here.
Can I use this water in my kettle? The Think Water Compact Filter will add 'hardness' to your water, therefore will produce scale when heated. There is nothing wrong with using this water in your kettle, but we suggest it's kept just for drinking cold water.
Can I use the filter on my current tap? Your current tap with be producing a flow rate of around 10 litres per minute. The Think Water Compact Ultra Filter runs at 4 litres per minute. This is not suitable for everyday use in the sink, plus you will exhaust the filter quickly. It is suggested you use a separate faucet or three way tap.
Is this different to Reverse Osmosis? Yes, Reverse Osmosis filters at 0.0001 micron, ultra filtration filters at 0.1 micron. You may find Reverse Osmosis water is acidic due to the minerals being stripped out. We keep the minerals in for taste and to support the body.
Can I use the filter with a water softener? There is nothing wrong with using the Think Water Compact Ultra Filter with softened water, however it will not reduce the sodium content. If you have a water softener, we suggest connecting the filter before it passes through.
How do I fit the filter?
As well as the filter, the package will also contain a self cutting valve which can be screwed onto any 15mm copper pipe. This can be done by a competent DIYer. If you are unsure, please use a plumbing professional. Here's a short video to explain fitting a self cutting valve - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2cWuxGvwXg
